For my assignment, I used Magritte as my inspiration to creating a surrealist picture. The picture that i referred to was 'Magritte - Personal Values'. Magritte is famous for his use of soft, fluffy clouds and a gentlemen in a suit and hat and you are never to see the face of this man. More famous imagery he is known for is the use of over exaggerating an image and making it bigger than it is in real life. For example, fitting an apple in the size of a small room and the apple fills up the whole space of the room. I chose magritte because i believe he is a very good serreal artist and has produced an enormous amount of fantastic images.
To create my surrealists image, I manipulated Magritte's 'Personal Values' Image by adding objects from my in class story, such as water melons and a purple cow. i chose this particular magritte image because i thought it was very interesting and i thought that my story would be best related to this image and would go very well with the structure of the magritte picture.
